CAE PINYOL

Cae Pinyol

I am a visual artist, designer and creative director.

I hold a degree in Fine Arts and a master's degree in Graphic Design. For more than thirty years, I have developed projects in the fields of design, branding and communication. This professional background has also shaped my artistic practice, where visual thinking and the construction of meaning enter into dialogue with a more intuitive and personal form of research.

My work explores memory. I like to speak of emotional archaeology, because through art I can enter unknown inner spaces without knowing exactly what I will find there. Rewriting and reinterpreting this information through artistic practice also allows me to transform it. I am interested in painting as a space from which to explore what often remains invisible: emotional information, bonds and traces passed down from one generation to another.

The idea of interconnection between people, different planes of existence, matter and spirit, as well as between past, present and future, is fundamental to my pictorial narrative. So is the symbolic language that connects works and projects, where fire, volcanoes, nature, animals, houses, food and everyday objects become containers of memory and meaning.

My work is written from a feminine perspective and is directly connected to my female lineage. Tarot, astrology, channeling, family constellations and meditation are some of the practices I use as gateways into these spaces of emotional information, from where I can map them anew.

Alongside my artistic practice, I direct Supernova, a studio specializing in sustainable design and communication for sustainability, and I also work as a teacher and consultant.
